This team joined the IHU-ICAN in 2015.

Our multidisciplinary team is developing new biomarkers of cardiac and vascular imaging that combine cardiovascular and metabolic phenotypes to more accurately characterize both normal and diseased physiology. Our research targets:

The development and validation of cardiac and vascular image processing software

Artfun: arterial rigidity from cine anatomical and velocimetric images
Mimosa: 3D aortic geometry from anatomical images
CardFlow: Diastolic function from cardiac velocimetry images
Cardio-Track: multi-cavity myocardial deformation from standard film images
MRFibrosis: tissue characterization from T1 / T2 mapping and late enhancement
Orbit: tracking retinal vessels from adaptive optics images
Work in progress: cardiac and aortic hemodynamics from 4D flow images

Clinical translation to evaluate the contribution of our imaging biomarkers in:

Healthy aging (subclinical alterations)
Cardiometabolic disease (organ interaction)
Right ventricular dysplasia (added value of myocardial deformity and intracardiac flow)
Familial hypercholesterolemia (impact on heart tissue and function)
Clinically unexplained myocardial infarction in the young (role of aortic stiffness)
Aortic disease, namely aneurysm and Turner syndrome (added value of aortic flow)

FOCUS

Our multidisciplinary team is developing new biomarkers of cardiac and vascular imaging that combine cardiovascular and metabolic phenotypes to more accurately characterize both normal and diseased physiology. Our research focuses on the development and validation of cardiac and vascular image processing software and clinical translation to evaluate the contribution of these imaging biomarkers to heart disease.
