Principal investigator :
Karine Clément, MD-Ph.D.

Our laboratory is conducting basic and translational research in the area of obesity and related metabolic disorders. It has several aims:

  • to explore the disturbances of inter-organ dialogue and especially the role of adipose tissue
  • identifying new ways to stratify the disease and new therapies to improve cardiometabolic health.

Research is divided into five main topics:

  • Topic 1 : Progression of obesity and related complications: role of gut microbiota?
  • Topic 2 : Intestine as a key player in metabolic disorders
  • Topic 3 : Adipose tissue Remodeling
  • Topic 4: Systems’ biology and data integration
  • Topic 5 : Translating our fundamental research for the benefit of patients
